I think this was a time where there was a very narrow idea of what women in poker could really do. I always thought it was an advantage to be a woman in the tournament reporting space because poker tournaments are very boring and these guys are stuck in their seats and just want someone to talk to. Winning his first WSOP bracelet online in 2023, Karapet Galstyan now has a live WSOP bracelet added to his collection, winning the $600 Deepstack No-Limit Hold’em for $259,829. Surviving a turbulent final table, Toby Price is taking his first WSOP bracelet and largest career score back to Arizona. Starting his poker career as a young online prodigy, Poland’s Dzmitry Urbanovich now has a WSOP bracelet to his name, finishing on top of the podium in the 8-Game Mixed Championship.
The final knockout of day 2 pitted the A♠A♥6♥5♣ of Sean Winter against K♦Q♠6♠6♦ for Chris Frank. Six-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus was left on fumes when his own pair of kings and flush draw ran into the pocket aces of Philip Sternheimer. Two-time bracelet winner Robert Cowen then bowed out in ninth place ($224,962) with his overpair of kings and flush draw losing out to the flopped set of queens of Negreanu. The 51-year-old Canadian legend of the game defeated a stacked field of 83 entries in the $100,000 pot-limit Omaha high roller to earn his eighth bracelet and the first-place prize of $2,257,718.
Yet, it took until late on day 5 of the 2026 WSOP main event for Mizrachi’s shot at another impossibility to come to an end. Ensan was one of four WSOP main event champions who started day 5 with hopes of repeating their former glory. Only one previous WSOP main event champion reached day 6, and that’s 2019 winner Hossein Ensan.
